Yadira Pascault Orozco, versátil actriz, conductora y productora mexicana que trabajó en Argentina

Yadira Pascault Orozco es una actriz y conductora mexicana de gran versatilidad. Inició su carrera de la mano de reconocidos directores como Alejandro González Iñárritu y Fernando Eimbcke; y en televisión fue la conductora del programa icónico de Rock and Roll, Sónicamente, que estuvo al aire durante 6 años en Canal Once.

En su recorrido actoral ha participado en ocho largometrajes: “Juego de Héroes”, “No Eres Tu Soy Yo”, “Aquí Entre Nos”, “Bride+1”, “Introducing Jodea” y “Safe House”, entre otros.

Trabajó en numerosas obras de teatro, en México y Estados Unidos. También ha trabajado en diversas producciones de las cadenas televisivas Telemundo y TV Azteca. Recientemente, fue nominada a Mejor Actriz por el personaje antagónico Isabella André en “Introducing Jodea”. Y ganó el Premio a Mejor Ensamble Actoral con el programa de televisión “Passed You On Pico”. Ambos galardones fueron en el New York City International Film Festival.

Su entrenamiento actoral incluye The Lee Strasberg Film & Theatre Institute, y la compañía de teatro The Actors’ Gang bajo la dirección artística de Tim Robbins, en Los ángeles; así como l'école Internationale de Theatre Jacques Lecoq, en París.

Ha colaborado con la producción ejecutiva de las películas: “Nosotros Los Nobles”, “El Cumple de la Abuela”, “No Eres Tu Soy Yo”, “Amor de mis Amores” (aquí fue también productora junto con Andrés Tagliavini, hijo de santiagueño), “”31 Días, “Boogie El Aceitoso”, “La Caridad”, entre otras.

Dos de las películas en las que Yadira ha estado involucrada, han estado en la lista del top ten de taquilla en la historia del cine mexicano.

Toca el sitar, con lo cual ha participado en varios festivales en la ciudad de Los ángeles, como instrumentista de música hindustani.

Es locutora free-lance en las estaciones de radio Rock 101 y La Pop Life. Cuenta con un grado certificado en guionismo por la University of California, Los ángeles (UCLA).

Habla inglés, español y francés.

Yadira Pascault Orozco ha sido musa de obras de arte visual contemporáneo y literarias.

En 2016, el muralista mexicano Julio Carrasco Bretón plasmó el rostro de Pascault Orozco en una obra pictórica de gran escala creada específicamente para el Hotel El Parque México en la Ciudad de México.

En la novela Diablo guardián, del escritor mexicano Xavier Velasco, el personaje protagónico, Violetta,19 fue ampliamente inspirado por la personalidad y articulación de discurso de Pascault Orozco. El libro ganó el Premio Alfaguara de Novela en 2003.

A mediados de 2016, después de asistir a la apertura de la exhibición Perception de la aclamada artista contemporánea neoyorquina, Carole Feuerman, en la galería KM Fine Arts en Los ángeles, la artista invitó a Pascault Orozco a Nueva York para ser el sujeto de una escultura hiperrealista de cuerpo completo intitulada "The Midpoint".

"Do Not Disturb" will screen at Santa Fe International Film Festival this week.

SANTA FE, NM, UNITED STATES, October 24, 2024 Prepare for a rollicking ride through Tinseltown with Do Not Disturb, a witty 12-minute short film that dives into the comedic chaos of two C-list actors Isla and Ryan, brilliantly portrayed by Yadira Pascault Orozco and Max Isaacson, (on a quest to film a sex tape and catapult their careers to new heights! The film will screen at the Santa Fe International Film Festival.
But let’s be clear: this isn’t your average adult film. Do Not Disturb is a playful exploration of ambition, fame, and the quirky lengths people go to in Hollywood.

Produced by the dynamic duo Julia Kennedy Hunt and written & directed by the talented Hugo Ortiz Clemens, this film marks their fourth collaboration as a producer/director team and serves as their undergraduate thesis at The University of Texas at Austin.

With a fresh and satirical lens, Do Not Disturb challenges the age-old question: who makes it in Hollywood and why? Follow the journey of Isla, a Mexican telenovela starlet looking to break into the American entertainment scene, and Ryan, a former child star eager to earn his stripes as a serious actor. Despite their differing backgrounds, they share one goal: to be recognized for their talent. Luckily, they discover that society’s obsession with celebrity lives might just be the ticket to their dreams!

Beyond the laughs and antics, this film invites viewers to reflect on the often-absurd dynamics of the entertainment industry, sparking conversation about consumer culture and celebrity obsession.

In 2023, Hugo Ortiz Clemens’ short film “Brenda” won first place at the Texas Union Film Festival. This year, he showcased his undergraduate thesis film “Do Not Disturb” at Austin Film Festival in the Best Lil’ Shorts in Texas program. The film follows two C-List actors Isla and Ryan (wonderfully played by Yadira Pascault Orozco and  Max Isaacson) as they attempt to film a sex tape to kickstart their Hollywood careers. The Daily Texan sat down with Ortiz Clemens (radio-television-film ‘23) to discuss the progression of his filmmaking career and his ambitious short film. 

 

The Daily Texan:  You created “Do Not Disturb” as your undergraduate thesis film. Did you ever imagine it would reach this big of an audience? 

Hugo Ortiz Clemens: The thesis part was the excuse — I was gonna make it, and it was awesome to make it within the resources the university offered for being a thesis film. I knew I wanted to make it because it (would) be my last film as an undergrad here, so I wanted to take advantage of as many resources as I could. 

DT: What do you hope audiences take away from your short film?  

HOC: There’s not a lot of meritocracy (in the film industry) and there’s a lot of stuff that plays into it. But at the same time, we still want to be a part of it in a weird way. .… You don’t have to agree with how everything works and how everything is to still want to be a part of it, because it’s gray — it’s never black and white. There’s some good things and there’s some very bad things about it. But in the end, it’s all about knowing your limits — where you would go and where you don’t want to go as an artist (and) to be able to put your work out there.
