Poppies, a celebrated short film by director Myles Yaksich - featuring Mathew Knowles, Cindera Che, Kara Wang, Jonathan Stanton and Yadira Pascault Orozco will be included in the Official Selection of the Hamilton Film Festival in Ontario, Canada in October of 2018.

Fate intervenes, when Charles, a young and over-worked American corporate lawyer, finds himself seated beside an elderly Chinese woman with a mysterious past, Auntie Ling on a contemporary flight from Shanghai to New York. After noticing the beautiful bouquet of Poppies that Charles has brought on-board the flight, Auntie Ling reminisces about the early years of her marriage to Shu Zhen, an opium trader in 1940s Shanghai, and tries to coax Charles out of his solitude. Slowly lured into her stories, Charles begins to see the layers beneath Auntie Ling's polished facade. Poppies brought Charles and Auntie Ling together, underscoring the fine line between joy and sorrow...life and death. Influenced by real events, Poppies explores the cross-cultural and cross-generational relationships that develop between strangers in mid-air.

兩年一度的威尼斯視藝雙年展將於5月13日向公眾開放，展期到今年11月26日才結束。雙年展為威尼斯帶來大量遊客、記者、藝術家和其他藝術界人士。
除了這些人之外，還有幾位來自運動界的「泳手」也在開展前提早來到了威尼斯的一個公園，擺好了姿勢，等待大家來觀賞和拍照


這幾位姿態優美的運動員其實是美國藝術家Carole A. Feuerman的代表作。據說，她如此鍾情於製作這一系列的泳手雕塑，是源於她年輕時生活不如意，有次在泳池邊思考人生時，忽然看到有一位女子從水中冒出來，出水後昂首挺胸地往前走，女子那一身的自信讓Carole下決心要做一個雕塑來表達那一種感覺。

Carole雕塑的魅力在於真實感十足，連身上的水珠都栩栩如生，而且每個泳手都閉上眼睛，給人一種自信且享受的感覺。她是70年代超寫實雕塑運動的領導者之一，這一運動的理念是根據真人去創作雕塑。2015年時，Carole的泳手系列雕塑作品曾來港展出過，展出的地方正是尖沙咀碼頭旁的海港城。如果你有去今年的香港巴塞爾藝術展（Art Basel Hong Kong），可能也記得展場中曾出現女泳手趴在泳圈上的雕塑作品，那也是她的作品。

威尼斯緯度比香港高，夏天晝長夜短，晚上八九點鐘還沒天黑。近日天氣依然有點涼爽，但天黑得愈來愈遲，說明這個城市已經準備好進入夏天了。要下水的話，「泳手」們好像還要再等一陣。

"The Midpoint" by Carole Feuerman In Venice at Giardino Della Marinaressa (Venice Biennale)

After four nail-biting weeks of shipping delays, customs clearance problems, passports and visa paperwork for each traveling sculpture, Carole is on the move again: this time, back to Venice for a solo show at the Giardino Della Marinaressa, during the Venice Biennale and five collateral exhibitions simultaneously.

Among the new sculptures being presented at the Giardino Della Marinaressa exhibit is "The Midpoint" a stunning portrayal of Mexican actress, Yadira Pascault Orozco (Sonicamente, Aquí Entre Nos,  No Eres Tú, Soy Yo ) who posed for Carole Feuerman in August of 2016 at Feuerman's Manhattan studio. The two had met at Carole's "Preception" exhibit at KM Fine Arts in Los Angeles the month before.
